Data Privacy

Data Privacy ensures that only authorized users can access sensitive information. It encrypts specific values in log results so only users with the right permissions can access the actual data. For example, only users within a specific user group can see a username in the log, while members of another user group see the username encrypted.

The Logpoint Administrator can enable or disable Data Privacy.

There are two data privacy groups to manage the decrypted data access:

  • Can Request Access

  • Can Grant Access

Can Request Access users can request access to view decrypted data fields, and also track their access requests.

Can Grant Access users can view and manage pending access requests, approve or deny them, and can review the history of past requests and their corresponding actions. Additionally, if granted the necessary permission, they too can request access to view decrypted data fields.

Enabling the Data Privacy Module can impact alerts and dashboards as the original data fields are encrypted. Refer to Alert and Dashboards.
