The GEOIP application enables you to enrich log messages with the geographical information of a public IP address. It gives the geographical information such as country_name, region_name, city_name, postal_code, latitude, longitude, and timezone of a public IP address. For the private IP supporting the RFC 1918 Address Allocation for Private Internets, it adds the value internal to all the generated fields.
